Distance learning in K-12 is something I did not experience personally until my senior year of high school. I was taking online dual-enrollment classes and it was my first distance learning experience. A technology I used for the first time was Zoom, and it made me realize how quickly we can adapt to distance learning. Zoom was an important feature for communication, PowerPoint for instruction, and Canvas to structure the class. These were effective to bridge the educational gaps when distance learning was relevant during the pandemic, and are useful in our regular structure too. A technology I have always wanted to use that is useful in distance learning is Jamboard. This platform allows students to collaborate on ideas virtually. It could be a great way to structure ideas and seems fun and engaging. Open educational resources are teaching resources that are open-domain and accessible to all educators and students.
