Distance learning in K-12 is something I did not experience personally until my senior year of high school. I was taking online dual-enrollment classes and it was my first distance learning experience. A technology I used for the first time was Zoom, and it made me realize how quickly we can adapt to distance learning. Zoom was an important feature for communication, PowerPoint for instruction, and Canvas to structure the class. These were effective to bridge the educational gaps when distance learning was relevant during the pandemic, and are useful in our regular structure too. A technology I have always wanted to use that is useful in distance learning is Jamboard. This platform allows students to collaborate on ideas virtually. When making my website, I utilized many of the web design principles from class. Contrast was useful when I used a gray landscape photo for a page background. I needed white text for effective contrast so it was more visible. Proximity also came in handy when I made organized lists on my web page. I liked using the elements because my design choices became more intentional. I plan to use these web elements in future assignments to improve my digitial design skills. Below is my website QR Code: QR codes in the classroom are such a great idea. This is a responsible way students can use technology in the classroom. The codes could link to various tools like a thesaurus, formula guide, flow chart, or any other resource that could be useful if it were easily accessible to students.
